How do I Record an Assignment Response?

In your online course, you may be asked to record audio of yourself for an assignment. Here is how you can record a response.

Prerequisites

An external microphone
Your computer's built-in microphone
A phone or smart device

Instructions for recording an Assignment

Step 1

Click on the course assignment you wish to add a submission for.

Step 2

Click on the “Add Submission” button.

Step 3

In the “Add Submission” Section, you will have several options for submitting assignments. Read the Assignment instructions to see what your course instructor wants you to submit. Use the "Audio Recorder" to

Press “Record” to start the audio recording
Press “Stop” to end the audio recording
Press “Pause” to temporarily pause the recording.
- Press “Continue” to resume recording
Press “Play” to listen to your recording
Press “Upload” to upload the recording to the assignment
- In the bottom left corner, press the gear icon for Recording Settings
- Select which device to record audio
- Download the recording to your computer

Step 4

After clicking “Save Changes” and 'Submit Assignment".

Troubleshooting

Make sure that your recording device is properly setup. Test prior to recording your assignment that it is working correctly.
Record yourself in a quiet place so that your instructor can hear you clearly.
