How do I add the DLC template to Word?

Saving the Sask DLC Template to your computer
Windows
Step 1:
Open the Sask DLC template in Microsoft Word

Step 2:
Press Save As > Browse

Step 3:
In the file explorer, save to the Custom Office Template folder

This PC > Documents > Custom Office Templates

Step 4:
Under Save As Type, select Word Template from the dropdown.

Mac
Step 1:
Open the Sask DLC template in Microsoft Word

Step 2:
In the top bar, select Save as Template, and press Confirm

Creating a file using the Sask DLC Template
Windows
Step 1:
Open Word and select File > New

Step 2:
Under Templates, go to Personal, and select the Sask DLC template from the options.

Mac
Step 1:
Open Microsoft Word, and select New from the menu

Step 2:
Under Personal, select the Sask DLC template

Applying Template styles to an existing document
Windows
Step 1:
Open the document you wish to apply the styles to
Step 2:
Go to File > Options > Add-Ins


Step 3:
Under the Manage dropdown, select Templates, and click Go

Step 4:
In the Templates and Add-ons window, click on Attach, select the Sask DLC template, and click Open


Step 5:
Check the box that says Automatically update document styles, and click OK

Step 6:
If the colors in the document don't match the template, go to Design > Themes > Reset Theme from "SaskDLCTemplate" Template

Mac
Step 1:
Open the document you wish to apply the styles to
Step 2:
In the top bar, click on Tools and select Templates and Add-ins from the drop-down

Step 3:
From the menu that pops up, click Attach, and select the saved Sask DLC template in Finder


Step 4:
Once it is selected, check the box that says Automatically update document styles
