How do I sign into Microsoft 365 with my student email?
This document is designed to guide you through how to activate your Sask DLC email and sign into Microsoft 365, where you’ll have access to various tools to assist in your educational goals.
Prerequisites
- Sask DLC account
- Saskatchewan learning number
Step 1
Once you’ve logged into DLCgo, click on Student Information on the left-hand side of your screen
Step 2
You will need to scroll down the page to Guardian Information #2. Under your Education Information, you’ll see your Saskatchewan Learning Number
Step 3
All students will then need to download the MS Authenticator app onto a smartphone that they will need regular access to. The MS Authenticator app lets the Sask DLC know that the sign-in request is coming from a trusted device and will help you seamlessly and securely access additional Microsoft apps and services. At this point, you don’t need to sign in or do anything with the app, just have it open on your phone.
Step 4
On a computer, go to https://login.microsoft.com and sign in with your Sask DLC username and
temporary password:
Sask DLC username - Saskatchewanlearnernumber@saskDLC.ca - Example: 123456789@saskDLC.ca
Temporary Password - Myp@ssw0rd-DLC
Step 5
You will be prompted to create your password, which must contain 8 characters that include at least 3 of the following 4 character types: lower case letters, upper case letters, numbers, or symbols
Step 6
Once you’ve created your password, you will then be prompted to set up your Multi-Factor Authentication.
Step 7
On your device, if prompted, Allow Notifications
Step 8
Click Add account, select Work or school account, Sign In, and then Next
Step 9
The next screen to appear will be Keep your account secure, Use your phone to scan the QR code then click Next
Step 10
You will be prompted to enter a Phone number so the Authenticator app can send you a 6-digit code to verify security. Please make sure you enter a phone number that you have access to regularly. Enter the 6-digit code from your phone.
Congratulations!! You have successfully set up your MS Authenticator app! You will now be able to access all the apps in Microsoft 365!
