How do I use Microsoft 365 apps in my web browser?
All Sask DLC students have access to the Microsoft 365 suite of apps. This article will show you how to access Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and more for free in your web browser. If you are using a device that cannot have Windows or Mac apps installed, such as older Chromebooks that cannot run Android apps, please follow these instructions.
Prerequisites
- Sask DLC account
- Microsoft 365 Access
- Web browser
Instructions to use Microsoft 365 apps in a web browser
Step 1
On your device, open your preferred web browser, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
Step 2
Go to m365.cloud.microsoft and click "sign in"
Step 3
Click the 'Sign in' button in the top right corner of the page and enter your Sask DLC Microsoft 365 email address and password.
Step 4
Once signed in, you will see the Office apps listed along the left. Click or tap on the icon for the app you wish to use. Additional apps may be found by clicking the 'Apps' icon. The following apps are available to you:
Outlook
Email and calendar app where you can find your Sask DLC email inbox.
Teams
Communication platform for chats, video meetings, and file sharing.
Word
Word processing app for creating and editing text documents.
Excel
Spreadsheet app for data analysis.
PowerPoint
Presentation software for creating slideshows.
OneNote
Note-taking app organizing notes and many types of information.
OneDrive
Storage space for saving, sharing, and accessing different types of files in the cloud.
Step 5
To create a new document directly, click the 'Create' icon and choose the type of document you wish to create. You can also choose a template from the gallery for each document type.
Step 6
You should now be able to begin typing in your document.
Step 7
Your document will save automatically as you work in your browser. Return to m365.cloud.microsoft to open your documents in the future.
Troubleshooting
- Office files created in the web browser are not saved to your device unless they are synchronized using the OneDrive app.
